Brands I use: Winsor and Newton, Daniel Smith, Lukas. I prefer tube paints as I like to mix on a palette.
I do have a travel box for pigments. John Neal Bookseller carries some nice travel box options.
I have a basic list that is used in most of my classes.
The palette samples include most of the brand names:
***DS: Daniel Smith **WN: Winsor Newton *LK: Lukas
Cadmium Red Light * Cad Yellow Cerulean Blue Sap Green
*Permanent Red Deep ***Hansa Yellow **Phthalo Turquoise ***Undersea Green
